Cold Lamination Roll Selection Guide

Cold lamination uses pressure-sensitive adhesive film rather than heat to protect prints. A roller laminator applies the film to vinyl banners, inkjet posters, vehicle graphics and photographs that would warp or discolour under thermal pouches. Print shops across India choose cold lamination for outdoor signage, exhibition panels and any job where the substrate is heat-sensitive or already mounted on foam board.

When buying cold lamination rolls, match three specs to your machine: roll width (common sizes from 24 inch to 63 inch), film thickness (typically 80–250 micron) and core diameter (1 inch for desktop units, 3 inch for industrial roll-to-roll laminators). Gloss film enhances colour vibrancy on photo prints; matte film reduces glare on display panels viewed under bright lights. Keep a spare roll in your most-used width so rush jobs do not stall waiting on film delivery.
